Choosing the Best Puppy

Love, at first sight, is what I call choosing a pup since your dog will be your companion for life you should choose one wisely. There are a few things that you need to remember during the selection process.

Healthy Pup.

Now the biggest and the best tip to have a fit dog is to choose a puppy who is fed on the mother’s milk for at least 45 to 60 days, Mother’s milk is the best food for puppies which helps them to have a strong immune system.

Reputed breeder

Always check for a reputed breeder for your puppy, a reputed breeder may charge you more but they breed puppies ethically which ensures that puppies are healthy and have a good temperament. Avoid getting a pup from a puppy mill. You can get a pup at a much cheaper rate from any puppy mill; However, this will be the biggest mistake you will be doing. By getting a pup from a backyard breeder or puppy mill you will encourage incorrect breeding practices which result in producing poor quality pups who often fall sick or do not live long.

Check for parents

When you ask the breeder to show you, parents of your pup, you get a fair idea of how your pup will look once he turns in to an adult dog. By looking at the parents of your pup, you will also understand what the temperament will be of your dog.

Observing the puppies

When you have time to look at the group, puppies spend at least 10 to 15 mins with them. Even if you see that there are 5 to 6 puppies from the same mother their size and behavior may slightly vary from each other, now you have to observe and choose the best one which will match your lifestyle and personality.

Lifestyle and personality

Once you have observed a group of puppies, you will know which one is the most active, dominating, medium energy and lazy pup. If you are a high-energy person and love to spend more time on morning or evening walks than select the one with high energy. If you love spending more time at home than you can select low energy or a lazy pup. Medium energy dogs are best suited for any family. If you need a dog for guarding your property or family members, then you can choose the pup with a dominating personality.
